Some left-wing people and groups don’t identify with the Ukrainian struggle against Russian aggression. This includes some of the leaders of left parties, trade unions and social movements, and the editors of left websites. Many of them don’t help Ukrainian refugees, don’t provide humanitarian support; some simple purvey Kremlin propaganda.
Some “campists”—those who view left politics as coming down to a choice between the US, Russia and China and their respective allies—seem unable to conceive any evil being greater than the US.
Some pseudo-pacifists advocate Ukrainian surrender, calling this the road to peace. Some adhere to these dangerous approaches due to sincere beliefs; others simply choose the more comfortable position of preferring not take a stand. Too many promote false arguments to discourage and discredit support to Ukraine’s resistance. They seem obsessed with “nationalism”, (but only Ukrainian, and always viewed negatively) “self determination” (but only in territories that Russia is targetting) and “anti-militarism” (but only against Ukraine’s defense effort and those countries that help it.
