FRANÇAIS CI-DESSOUS

Join us on 26 November for a discussion on how trade unions and trade unionists in many countries are supporting Ukraine and its workers’ movement; and how we can do more.

Speakers from Norway, the UK, France and Catalonia will present the actions taken by and debates conducted in the trade union movement in their countries – by federations, individual trade unions, local organisations and rank-and-file trade union activists – since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Union policy debates, raising public awareness, lobbying parties and governments, solidarity visits, financial aid, humanitarian aid convoys, but also direct dialogue with Ukrainian trade unions and Ukrainian workers – these are the topics that will certainly come up during our discussion.

We look forward to an open discussion with representatives of the broad trade union movement from around the world to talk about different experiences of building solidarity, and also about the difficulties that arise in this work and how it can be strengthened.

Our speakers will be:

  • Nataliya Yeremeyeva (Landsorganisasjonen i Norge, LO, Norway)
  • Maria Exall (Trades Union Congress, TUC, General Council member, United Kingdom)
  • Félix Le Roux (Solidaires, part of International Labour Network of Solidarity and Struggle, France)
  • Cati Llibre (Unión General de Trabajadores, Catalonia) – video message

Chair: Sacha Ismail (Ukraine Solidarity Campaign England and Wales trade union liaison officer)

We will also hear from trade union comrades in Ukraine

Where: online (Zoom)

When: Wednesday, November 26, 7pm CET, 6pm UK time, 8pm Ukraine time

  • Nataliya Yeremeyeva (Landsorganisasjonen i Norge, LO,Norvège)
